Mission
Statement
The Orillia
Police Services Board in conjunction with the Ontario Provincial Police
is committed to providing an effective and efficient police
service that improves community safety and well being and reduces crime
in the City of Orillia.
The Board
supports and partners with the Ontario Provincial to achieve this
through:

Community Involvement
Crime Prevention Programs
Facilities & Equipment
Education
continues to be a key asset for all components of our Community.
Programming in the schools plays a major role in reducing future
incidents of crime. Educating adults both personally and from a
business perspective provides the tools to protect themselves from
incidents of crime.
Community
Involvement
with
various Adult/Youth Volunteer groups and other emergency services to
foster positive relationships.
Crime Prevention
Programs
identify crime priorities and provide best solutions to prevent and
deter future incidents of crime.
Facilities & Equipment
are essential tools for police to effectively perform their duties and
maintain personal safety.

Our Mandate
(pursuant
to the Police Services Act)
The Police Services Board consists of five
members - one citizen appointed by Council,
two citizens appointed by the
Province and two members of Council.
The Board is established pursuant to the
Police Services Act. It is responsible for ensuring that
the level of policing
in the City of Orillia continues to adequately and efficiently
meet the
requirements of its citizens and the guidelines under the Police Services Act.
